I don’t really need all those fancy features in a meat grinder. I just want to grind my own meat easily without spending too much money on such machine. I want something small enough to fit in my apartment’s limited kitchen space, and it needs to be light enough so that I can store it easily without any fuss. So, after careful consideration, I settled on the Sunmile SM-G31. And you know what, it fit my needs perfectly.
- Dimensions: 14.76 x 7.68 x 14.17 inches; weighs 7.9 pounds
- 350W 1HP motor
- Simple on and off switch with reverse function
- Stainless steel cutting blade
- Die-cast aluminum grinder head
- Removable aluminum meat tray holds a large amount of meat
- Full set of accessories is included, including 3 stainless steel cutting plates (fine, medium, and large) and attachments for sausage-making
Despite its low price, this meat grinder is quite handy and also very durable. It works just as well as the more expensive meat grinders. You just turn it on (it has only one speed) and it will grind the meat right away.
Its size is a very convenient feature for me at least, since there’s not much space on my kitchen countertop for a bulky appliance. And at 8 pounds, it requires no effort at all if I need to clean or store it after I’m done using it.
The price is a truly attractive feature, it costs less than a hundred dollars. But just because it’s very affordable doesn’t mean it’s not good quality. The SM-G31 works well and its parts are sturdy enough considering that the meat tray, the head, and the screws are made from aluminum.
While the motor does take a bit longer to grind meat, it has some time-saving features which can speed up the process. The meat tray is large enough to hold considerable amounts of meat, and the sausage attachments enable you to stuff your own sausage in less time.
There are only a couple of disadvantages, but they’re to be expected because it only has a 350 watt 1HP motor. For one, while it does grind the meat well it takes a longer time to do so compared to other meat grinders with more powerful motors. And these other meat grinders can do something else that the SM-G31 can’t, and that’s to grind bone. The motor in the Sunmile SM-G31 can only handle boneless meat.
The cleanup also takes some time, but I was prepared for that too. In fact, more expensive models are cleaned in the same meticulous way. Considering its price you can’t really expect to buy a meat grinder that’s dishwasher-safe.
This meat grinder is an affordable alternative to heavier and bulkier grinders, and it’s suitable for small families who don’t have a large kitchen. It’s perfect for a no-fuss meat grinding activity, and it can handle just about anything you can sink your teeth in, literally. It’s certainly much more convenient than a manual grinder and more efficient than a food processor.
